  11. I have an a4000 with 12 megs fast ram and wanted to use the
  12. IDE 124 meg disk to play with netbsd.

  14. I downloaded the netbsd distribution and placed it in work:bsd-store
  15. as follows:

  53. I used the hdtoolbox to partition it into three sections
  54.     UX0: (root) 15 Meg
  55.     UX1: (swap) 17 Meg
  56.     UX2: (usr)  90 Meg

  58. I selected the advanced options to set the custom file system
  59. ID, and 0 for both start and end.  This was done for each
  60. partition, and the dos type id was set properly for each partition.

  62. I clicked on save-changes, then exit, then rebooted.

  65. Then, I went to the utils section and ran the folowing:
  66. xstreamtodev --input=inst-11.fs --rdb-name=UX1:

  68. It reports back:
  69. warn: could not locate a partition with your specs.
  70.  
  71. I tried adding the --device but it just won't seem to scan the IDE bus.
  72.  
  73. Some questions:  where should inst-11.fs be?  in L:?
  74.          Do I need to mount the drive to run xstreamtodev? (if so,
  75.             what would be an easy way to do this?)
  76.          Will the extract utility (once I get things up) care that
  77.             I have already concatenated and uncompressed the
  78.             xxx11.aa .. xxx11.zz stuff? (if so,is it a shell 
  79.             script so that I can easily change this?)
